International Conference/ Council

Beloved Ancients, may InI find you all blessed and in the peace of the Faith of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I. 

You have kept the fire for the total emancipation of Africans and liberation of Africa, at home and abroad, burning from that time to now.  You have endured, with humility, the brutality inflicted upon InI over the decades by the system in the firm belief that the Lion of Judah shall prevail.  You have chanted down Babylon and declared death to black and white oppressors and you have championed the call of His Imperial Majesty for I&I to Organize and Centralize as a necessary precursor to Repatriation and to the Restoration of Africa’s children and their stolen resources. 

Beloved Ancients, the time has now come when InI must unite and be strong.  InI who have formed this Organizing Committee through the guidance of the Holy Spirit look to each and every one of you to give your blessings so I&I can move forward to Organize this historic and noble works which, in the words of HIM, will require I&I to “become bigger than we have been. More courageous, greater in spirit, larger in outlook”.

 

Beloved Ancients, after several weeks of e-mail conversations between a group of more than 50 persons in various nations of the world, there seems to be a general consensus that an international Conference/ Council should be convened in the form of deliberations, reasoning’s and finally pronouncements by yourselves as the bona fide Council of Ancients, with the task of that gathering being to:  

1.       Acknowledge the Council of Ancients (Patriarchs and Matriarchs) as being the bona fide representative body of the Worldwide Mansions and Organisations of Rastafari.

2.       Re-appraise the Fundamental Tenets of Rastafari.

3.       Re-assess the thinking behind His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie introducing  to InI the EOTC, EWF Inc, OAU (AU)  and Land-grant in Shashamane;

4.       Evaluate the current status of the EOTC, EWF Inc, OAU (AU), Land-grant and determine how these organizations established by H.I.M. Emperor Haile Selassie I can assist I&I to achieve I&I GOALS OF REPATRIATION AND REPARATION.

5.       Determine the way forward and outline a proposal for a Sustainable Development Plan for the worldwide Family of Rastafari, and in accordance with the Rastafari Creed.

  

The other points of consensus were:

1.       That the various Mansions and Organisations represented will mandate the individual Ancients representing them  and that the deliberations arrived at will be respected, binding and implemented by the respective Mansions.

2.       That the criteria for electing the Ancients should not be determined simply by age and number of years the ones and ones have been trodding Rastafari but that Ancients who sit on the Council must have the capacity to debate on the various issues.   To this end, honorary status can be given to select younger and professional individuals.

3.       That the views and opinions of all Mansions and Organisations must be taken into account and in particular, if their programmes merit it, it must be adopted by the approved umbrella organization declared by the Council of Ancients as being the legitimate representative organization for the Worldwide Family of Rastafari.

4.       That the Council of Ancients will appoint “Ministers” and “Ambassadors”, or as the Ancients may name them, to form the nucleus of the Worldwide Government of Rastafari and that such appointees will be selected from the various Mansions worldwide who will swear an oath of allegiance to uphold the Constitution of the Worldwide Family of Rastafari or as named by the Council.

5.       That the Council mandates a Select Committee to consider the effect on InI of the AU  making the African Diaspora its 6^th Region and on how Rastafari can ensure effective representation when this milestone is achieved.

 

Beloved Ancients, I&I are all too aware that much of the above has already been deliberated upon by various Conferences convened over the years.  So one might wonder why the need to revisit them and to what useful purpose?  Nonetheless, the reality remains that at no time in I&I history has a Universal Conference/ Council,  ever been convened by the bona fide Ancients of the Worldwide Family of Rastafari to deliberate on the Fundamental Tenets of Rastafari, nor have I&I collectively considered the thinking behind the gifts given to InI by His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie, in order to formulate  a sustainable strategy on the way forward mindful that the His Majesty encouraged I&I in word and in deed to, Organize and Centralize.  The question still remains as to whether I&I will listen to and obey the Teachings of His Majesty or listen to and obey the traditions of men.

 

Beloved Ancients, InI believe that one of the critical questions that must be asked in determining the Fundamental Tenets of Rastafari is: Who is Ras Tafari?   By answering this crucial question I&I will know what Rastafari is or should be about.  InI will then be able to deliberate upon the crucially important issues of I&I economical, social, political and Worldview to propel I&I forward into the next century as a united people.  The word Rastafari has meaning and it cannot be that, as a unified people, it is this for some and something else for others if InI are to have a unified sustainable plan for development.

 

Simply put, the word Rastafari means those who are followers of the Teachings and Utterances of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie 1 of Ethiopia, pretty much as followers of Garvey are called a Garveyites.  If I&I follow that principle it lends to reason that a follower of HIM would want to understand and know what those principles are.  Why did HIM introduce the EOTC, EWF Inc, OAU and the Land-Grant to I&I and how must I&I, if at all, make use of them today in order to realize I&I goals in life as an individual and a collective? 

 

Beloved Ancients, in understanding the history of the African and in particular, the African holocaust over 400 years of systematic genocide, I&I can appreciate that essentially Rastafari is about the gathering and return of the lost and scattered sons and daughters of Africa to their motherland both in body and in spirit just as the so called Jews have done in developing a world wide body representing their spiritual, economical, social and political ideologies.

 

Beloved Ancients, as members of the OC, InI hold the opinion that until and unless I&I as the Worldwide Family sit, discuss and agree on the challenges that confront us, I&I efforts to organize and centralize will continue to be fraught with setbacks. What is Rastafari? Is it based on the traditions of men or the Teachings of His Imperial Majesty?  What must be done about the gifts given to InI by HIM? How do InI address the challenges set before us, with the increasing numbers of Mansions and Organisations of Rastafari some far removed from the original realities that gave birth or new life to the Rastafari Movement which can be described as the continuation of the struggle for the total emancipation of the African and the African continent?  

 

Only when these questions are deliberated upon universally can InI begin seriously to deliberate with a common view and a centralized approach to the next phase which is, how to bring about sustainable economic growth amongst I&I.  Then and only then can InI have a voice in world affairs and contribute to collective security and international morality.  Africa will be a better place and millions of individuals who call themselves Rastafari will at long last have common ground from which they can call themselves Rastafari.

 

 The  Organizing Committee (OC) which, beloved Ancients, you are yet to bless, was born out of the fifty persons participating in the email conversations.  These individuals moved by the Holy Spirit are committed to facilitating the organizing of the Conference / Council without partiality and have agreed not to allow any of their personal opinions or preferences to any particular Mansion or Organisation to prejudice their undertaking of organizing the Conference / Council. They acknowledge that their opinions will be considered at the right time among all individuals who claim the Rastafari identity and participate.  The OC agree that all information released will be by the Co-ordinator of Communications on behalf of the OC. As members of the OC, I&I hold the opinion that until and unless I&I as the Worldwide Family sit, discuss and agree on the challenges that confront us, InI efforts to organize and centralize will continue to be fraught with setbacks.

The OC now seeks the approval of the Worldwide Family of Rastafari to proceed to organize the Conference / Council.  The OC recognizes that this Conference/Council, if convened, will be historical and that it will at long last set the foundation for effective centralisation of the Rastafari Worldwide Family .

 

Beloved Ancients, the course that Rastafari takes continues to rest in your hands.  It is time that I&I Organize and Centralize as a unified international body to engage the AU with certified dialogue on Repatriation for those who desire to be resettled in Africa, so as to unite as one people for the Liberation of the Continent.  Giving your support to this historical and noble initiative and readiness to continue moving forward in the way I&I have been moving forward over the years, will bring abundant blessings to you all and produce fruits worthy of adhering to the Teachings of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie 1 of Ethiopia, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of Judah, Elect of God, Custodian of the Davidic Covenant, Defender of the Orthodox Faith, Father of African Unity.

Princes and Princesses must come out of Babylon,

O thou Ivine Majesty, thy Izes come into to InI hearts
